Long story short : people who are seeking a tactical challenge should most probably try this on Intermediate, it should be enough for them.Įspecially, all the missions with reinforcements are a huge pain to win because you're trapped and you're fighting against time : if said reinforcements reach your main army, you're dead meat. It gets somewhat easier once you find Vita. A better player -I'll repeat, I'm mediocre at best- could obviously finish it, but it'll be a huge pain most probably. I'll admit I cheated my way out of this mission, because I probably couldn't beat it with what I had at the time. Leadership-powered Chocoknight is no joke. There's an endless stream of stuff coming to rapes you, and the wave of reinforcements with the damn DRAGONS is just insane. The last scenario -I mean against the Ancient Lich- is the hardest I've ever seen. Then, the missions get extremely hard again. It gets better all the way until that mission against the Ancient Lich. Then it gets better because the Zombie Mages own. Master at Arms are no joke, this unit is a huge pain to fight, especially since it's f'n day and he kills anything in two fights at best, one if he gets lucky with his 9001 strikes. The reinforcements are much more powerful than I thought, and my "hold the position" team got almost obliterated by the fencer wave (and there are more waves afterwards, duh).

It's weird, because the early levels seem to be almost on the easy side, so the player isn't exactly prepared to what happens starting with the scenario against Philosophy (the one where you zombify him). The huge maps, the rather low resistances of most zombies and stuff makes it a very hard challenge, and some missions are excruciatingly hard. And I'm far from being an expert, I'm actually quite mediocre. Maybe he should have like 10% blade resist at his highest level, or something.ĭifficulty : I confirm, the intermediate level is probably impossible to do for any non-expert. The ex-Wose is a tad too easy to kill towards the end, though.

On the other hand, I really liked the whole stuff with high-level zombies, and the "special" characters all have interesting abilities. I started liking the campaign less after this scenario, to be honest. The one against the five allied people, who allied with a freakin' Ancient Lich (and a mad one, to make things worse) just to get rid of you ? This sounded to me like an excuse to make another huge map with an extreme number of enemies who all have insane income and starting gold. It's basically huge battle after huge battle, and some scenarios don't even make sense. Sorry, but this is the weakest part of the campaign, imo.
